About this course

Description Why are some societies more unequal than others? How can we explain high levels of unemployment and soaring budget deficits? Why do health care and other public services differ in their quality across developed societies? The answers to these and related questions are explored and explained in this programme. Career Opportunities This degree provides the skills and knowledge to pursue various careers in the area of public policy analysis, advice and development. These include job in: International organizations, such as the United Nations, the World Bank and the European Union. INGOs and NGOs that are active in the social policy area, such as the fight against poverty, active inclusion and anti-discrimination. International and national interest organisations, including trade unions and business organizations. International and national consultancy companies and statistical agencies. National, regional and local ministries, departments and institutions dealing with labour market and social policy. About the programme This two year MSc links directly to current global and national challenges, such as the economic crisis, immigration and changing family models. Our international group of teachers from the Centre of Welfare State Research will provide you with state of the art knowledge on international public policy and politics relating to welfare and give you the skills to utilize theories and master different methods. Through hands on experience you gain competencies in analysing welfare states in a comparative and global perspective. In the third semester, students have the opportunity to study abroad or pursue an internship in a relevant organisation. Read about the programme structure here . Admission To be admitted to this programme, you must hold one of the following degrees in order to have direct admission: Bachelor in Political Science Bachelor in History Bachelor in Area Studies Bachelor in International Negotiation - Economics, language and culture All Social Science bachelors Moreover, a bachelor in Humanities also gives admission, if at least 45 ECTS points were acquired in the following areas: Comparative politics International relations Welfare studies In addition applicants will need to document English at B Level and Danish A or equivalent to these levels.
