Software engineering at Aberystwyth University is an accredited degree focused on the disciplined, systematic creation of large, high-quality, and long-lived software systems, recognising that writing code is only one part of the challenge of delivering software that works reliably in the real world. This four-year full-time degree is accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and includes an integrated year in industry. You will develop a deep understanding of software and related technologies alongside the management and professional skills associated with large-scale software development. The integrated year in industry gives you twelve months of professional experience in a software organisation, where you will work on real projects, develop professional skills, and build the industry knowledge and contacts that are invaluable in your final year and beyond. Students who perform sufficiently well may also transfer to the MEng scheme, gaining a higher degree qualification.
