About this course

Become an engineer in robotic technology at SDU in Odense - Denmark's Robot Valley As a MSc in Engineering in Robot Systems you can take part in the development that occurs within drone- and robot systems. You can, for example, develop robots with artificial intelligence that recognizes different people and adapt to their needs - in hospitals, in industry and in private homes. Or you can work with drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) which inspects powerlines or buildings, helps in agriculture, delivers blood samples to hospitals or find people who have been injured in natural disasters. As a master student you can choose one of two specializations: Advanced Robotics Technology and Drones and Autonomous Systems . From September 2020 we offer a revised specialization in Drone Technology under the name MSc. in Robot Systems with specialization in Drones and Autonomous Systems. This entails a full four-semesters programme dedicated to drones and autonomous systems. With a master degree you will get engineering competencies and general knowledge in areas such as computer science, electronics, unmanned aerial systems technology and robotics combined with an ability to comprehend advanced and highly technological contexts. Two specializ ations At the master programme you can choose one of two specializations: Advanced Robotics Technology and Drones and Autonomous Systems. Get an overview of the structure of the programme . If you specialize in Advanced Robotics your thesis can e.g. be in the following subjects: Mathematical modelling and computer based model analysis Sensor technology Computer systems and data transmission Computer vision Modern artificial intelligence If you specialize in Drones and Autonomous Systems your thesis can e.g. be in the following subjects: Autonomous robot and drone behavior Drone software engineering Robot and drone swarms Aircraft navigation and path planning Soft robots and legged robots Unmanned aircraft safety Computer vision Bio-inspired artificial intelligence During your studies you will get a thorough knowledge about the theory behind robotics such as mathematics, computer science and physics as well as of the more practical engineering subjects such as digital technique, electronics and robotics. As a robotics engineer you will be able to apply this knowledge in new contexts. Especially in areas which today are part of an amazing development with the integration of computers in a wealth of products and systems. Project work and exciting research based study environment You become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups. You and your fellow students are responsible for planning and carrying out the project – and for meeting the deadlines. Usually we receive the projects from companies, and we make a point of allowing you to solve β€˜real-world’ problems. Learn more from the students themselves. Versatile career paths With a master degree in Robot Systems you will have a range of job opportunities – in Denmark and abroad. Apart from various robotic systems, you could also develop i.e. mobile phones, web applications, or security systems. It is also possible to continue on a three-year research programme which will lead to a PhD degree. Another option is to study an industrial research programme which is carried out in close cooperation with a company where you are employed. Graduates who have completed this master programme are entitled to use the title of Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Robot Systems).
