Psychology is the scientific study of the mind, brain, and behaviour, examining the processes by which people perceive the world, learn, remember, think, feel, and act. It is both a natural science, drawing on neuroscience, genetics, and experimental methods, and a social science, concerned with how people relate to each other, how culture shapes behaviour, and how social structures affect mental health and wellbeing. The breadth of the discipline is one of its great strengths, and a psychology degree develops both specific empirical knowledge and the research and analytical skills to evaluate evidence critically.
