Bachelor Crafts in Glass and Ceramics
About this course
Description Professional Bachelor Crafts in Glass and Ceramics is rooted in the Danish design tradition, in which material-based ways of thinking and experimenting is an important part of the artistic basis for the design of artifacts in glass and ceramics. The programme combines craftsmanship and thorough knowledge of techniques and materials with artistic decision-making and critical reflection about the student’s own process and product. The cross-disciplinary teaching in e.g. design history, communication, design methods, sustainability, and business are anchored in a larger independent project – preferably in collaboration with external partners. Students learn to collaborate in areas such as production, the artistic process, organization of e.g. sales and exhibitions, and the operation of workshop facilities.
