To address this, the faculty’s research groups examine educational issues through diverse perspectives, incorporating elements from sociology, philosophy, psychology, technology, learning sciences, and the arts. The faculty also employs a rich array of methodological approaches and fosters extensive collaboration both within academia and beyond, providing opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary projects with significant societal impact. The research conducted in the aculty’s research groups is organised into three thematic areas, which also serve as the core focus areas of the doctoral programme: 1.Education in Society 2.Communities in Education 3.Learning, Pedagogy, and Learning Cultures Our doctoral curriculum builds on the following principles: Connection with the Faculty’s Research Focus Areas: Studies are linked to the Faculty of Education and Culture’s key research themes. Community Building and Support: A collaborative environment is fostered among doctoral researchers, supervisors, and faculty to encourage reciprocal support, knowledge sharing, and a sense of community. Comprehensive Supervision and Support: A structured yet supportive supervision system, including high-quality guidance and regular follow-up, ensures researchers have access to necessary academic and practical resources. Clear and Predictable Pathway Through Studies: The curriculum is structured to facilitate timely degree completion within four years (full-time studying), with progress regularly monitored against the established learning outcomes.
