Studying engineering at degree level develops your ability to move between abstract mathematical reasoning and concrete practical application, preparing you to design, analyse, and build the systems and structures that society depends on. At the University of Exeter, this three-year full-time programme includes an integrated foundation year, giving you a thorough grounding in the scientific and mathematical principles that underpin all engineering disciplines before you progress to more advanced study. The foundation year is designed to develop your core knowledge in mathematics, physics, and fundamental engineering science, ensuring that students from a range of backgrounds can build the confidence and analytical tools needed for the main degree. As you advance through the programme, you will engage with quantitative problem-solving, design projects, laboratory work, and the modelling of physical systems. Entry typically requires around 152 UCAS tariff points.
