About this course
Aerospace engineering is the discipline responsible for designing, building and maintaining the aircraft and spacecraft that have transformed transport and our understanding of the universe. It draws on fluid mechanics, structural engineering, materials science, thermodynamics, control systems and avionics to meet the extraordinary demands of operating at high speed, high altitude and in the vacuum of space. At Teesside University the programme includes a foundation year that builds your mathematical and scientific foundations, alongside an introduction to the design process, engineering drawing, simulation and modelling. The programme includes a sandwich year in industry and work placement opportunities, giving you direct experience of engineering in a professional aerospace context alongside your academic qualification.
