BSc Marketing
About this course
Marketing is the discipline concerned with understanding what people want and value, and with creating, communicating, and delivering that value in ways that benefit both customers and organisations. It sits at the intersection of psychology, data analysis, communication, and commercial strategy, and in a world where competition for attention is intense and the channels through which brands reach people are constantly evolving, skilled marketers are more important than ever. A marketing degree gives you both the conceptual frameworks to think strategically about markets and the practical skills to work across the full range of marketing activities. At Bangor University, this three-year, full-time programme includes a foundation year, providing a structured introduction to marketing and the broader business knowledge that underpins it. Once in the main degree, you will develop understanding of consumer behaviour, market research, digital marketing, branding, advertising, content strategy, and the analytical approaches that allow marketers to evaluate what is working and why. A sandwich year is built into the programme, giving you a full year of professional marketing experience before you graduate. A year abroad option and work placement opportunities are also available, broadening your exposure to marketing practice across different markets and cultural contexts. Bangor's location in north Wales provides a distinctive setting, and the university's connections to business and the wider Welsh economy enrich the learning environment. Graduates go on to careers in brand management, digital marketing, advertising, market research, public relations, product management, content creation, and business development across a wide range of industries, including retail, technology, financial services, media, and the not-for-profit sector. Many continue to professional qualifications or postgraduate study in marketing or business, building on the foundation the degree provides.
