Description Diet plays a pivotal role in development of life style disease, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. In addition to the burden for the individual, these diseases are expected to constitute the largest global health problem by 2020, and thereby increase the burden on the health system and the society. The Human Nutrition programme gives you comprehensive knowledge of the importance of nutrition to human health and a thorough understanding of the principles and methods of nutritional science. In the course of the two-year MSc programme, you will learn about the conversion of energy and nutrients in the human body, the importance of nutrition in the various stages of life and the effects of nutrition on health and disease. As a graduate from the MSc programme in Human Nutrition, you will be an expert on diet, nutrition and health, and you can therefore contribute to handling the global health challenges. Find out more about the programme structure Career Opportunities As an MSc in Human Nutrition, you wil have many different job opportunities, for example: Health coordinator, for example, planning dietary information campaigns. Management and teaching within higher health education. Management of projects and development work, including nutrition-related assessment of food products, for example, at the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration or the National Board of Health, Denmark. Gathering, processing and assessing nutrition scientific knowledge about, for example, the development of new dietary supplements or functional food, at companies like NestlΓ© or Unilever. Nutrition consultant in patients’ associations and special interest groups, for example, the Danish Cancer Society and the Danish Heart Foundation. Consultancy in countries with undernourishment and malnutrition problems. Teamwork in respect to designing, conducting and assessing nutrition-related studies and clinical tests, for example, at Novo Nordisk and Pharma Nord. Admission to a three-year PhD programme at the university or another research environment.
